Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are following Inter full back Dalbert closely, according to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà on Twitter earlier today.

The 27-year-old Brazilian left back joined Fiorentina on loan last summer, after the arrival of coach Antonio Conte, who had no need of the player in his tactical system.

Dalbert impressed in Florence and would have been happy to stay with the Viola, but an agreement was never reached and so he has now returned to the Lombard capital.

Atalanta are interested in him, after selling Timothy Castagne to Leicester City earlier this summer. Dalbert made 34 appearances across all competitions last season, providing nine assists in that time.

The player is still unwanted by coach Antonio Conte and so will either be sold or loaned out again before the start of the season, although the Milanese club are hoping for a definitive sale in order to close this chapter for good.

Pedullà described the situation on Twitter, saying: “Dalbert, Atalanta interested.”
