Barcelona have asked super agent Jorge Mendes to help them in their quest to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the Catalan side still consider the 23-year-old Argentine forward their number one transfer target and so want the help of the Portuguese agent in order to secure a deal.

Inter have remained quiet, not looking to sell the player, especially after his €111 million release clause expired back in July.

The player’s agents are currently in Italy and will meet with the Nerazzurri’s management, the report continues, where a possible contract renewal could be discussed, with higher wages.

Lautaro, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, made 49 appearances across all competitions last season, for a total of 3595 minutes.

In that time, he scored 21 goals and provided seven assists, forming a formidable partnership with Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku.
