Former Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness discussed Inter linked David Alaba in an interview with German media outlet Sport1 earlier today.

“We all want David to stay with us because he is a great guy. Hansi Flick desperately wants to keep him. But he has a money grubbing piranha as an agent, and his father is very influenced by him.”

Despite the incredibly high wage demands, Hoeness still hopes that 28-year-old Austrian left back will stay in Bavaria.

“I hope that he and his father will soon realize that Bayern is the best option for him and will sign a 4-5 year contract. One, two, three million more won’t make him happier. Our salary structure will. The club must stand firm on this.”

Contracted to the European champions until the end of next season, Alaba is currently attempting to negotiate a new contract with Bayern, but with significantly higher wages.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Inter, as the Nerazzurri are looking for a strong left wing back ahead of next season, with the department one of the weaker ones in the Nerazzurri squad.

Alaba made 42 appearances across all competitions last season, for a total of 3693 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals and provided two assists.

Other options that the Nerazzurri are considering for the left wing back role include Chelsea duo Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso, although the Spaniard is currently preferred after the Blues’ high fee demands for the Italian-Brazilian.
