Inter coach Antonio Conte is planning to start the season using the 3-5-2 formation, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri squad underwent tactical training yesterday at Appiano Gentile, with president Steven Zhang also visiting the training centre.
Conte did several tactical tests with his tried and tested 3-5-2 formation, not using the 3-4-1-2 formation that was previously used last season to attempt to better include Christian Eriksen.
Croatian forward Ivan Perisic was fit into the new system, not as a second striker, but as a left wing back, an experiment by Conte, the4 report continues.
Ashley Young was then moved to the right side of the pitch, where he could be the alternative to Achraf Hakimi.
The Nerazzurri are working hard to prepare ahead of their season opener against Fiorentina in less than two weeks’ time in Milan.
