Inter are in pole position in the race to sign Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Milanese club are still working to sign the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who has also been linked with Lazio for some time now.

The Gialloblu want no less than €30 million for Kumbulla, a figure that is too high for the Nerazzurri.

The Veneto based club are in no hurry to sell the 20-year-old, especially after selling a few other players earlier in the transfer window. The club finished in 9th place last season, a good finish for a newly promoted side.

Kumbulla could stay with the Gialloblu for another season, where he knows that he will play a regular role. The player made 26 appearances across all competitions last season, for a total of 2078 minutes, where he scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
