Inter coach Antonio Conte is finally getting transfer target Arturo Vidal, after waiting over a year for the 33-year-old Chilean, according to a report from Italian media outlet Sky Sports Italia earlier today.
The report details how the 51-year-old Italian explicitly requested Vidal upon arrival and has been waiting for the player ever since, with the duo sharing a strong relationship in Turin with Juventus.
In 2012 Conte spoke incredibly highly of the player, saying: “If I have to go to war, I will always take Arturo with me.”
The player improved dramatically under the former Juventus and Chelsea coach, becoming the player he is today thanks to Conte’s guidance.
Vidal is also flexible within Conte’s system, the report continues, and even played as a centre back against Genoa in March of 2012.
The Chilean himself shares this positive view of their relationship, with Conte’s presence at the Nerazzurri crucial in convincing him to head to Milan.
