Inter have not liked the fact that Lautaro Martinez’s agents have been in Spain, namely Madrid and Barcelona, lately according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio are well aware of the dynamics of the transfer market but his agents’ actions are seen to be provocative in the sense that it was either an attempt to force a farewell from Inter or to force a contract renewal with a greater salary.

Inter consider Lautaro as one of the club’s biggest assets and would have gladly done without his agents going about seeking offers for their client.

Barcelona have long been linked with moving for Lautaro and the report explains that their sporting director is convinced that it will be easier to sign Lautaro next Summer than it will by the end of the transfer window at the start of next month.

Unless Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are sold or Inter accept a counterpart and less than €111 million there is not much of a chance of Barcelona being able to get a deal done for Lautaro.

Barcelona have offered Lautaro €10 million net a year whilst Real Madrid seemingly have no plans to move for the 23-year-old.

Inter’s stance with regard to Lautaro’s future is strong. Club management plan to offer €5 million net plus add-ons to Lautaro as part of a new and improved contract but they are convinced that Lautaro and his agents will demand more.

The report concludes that in the coming days Inter management will meet with Lautaro’s representatives.
