Inter have laid the foundations to sign themselves a new left wing-back according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have receieved a ‘yes’ from both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri with regard to whether they would be open on swapping Chelsea for Inter. Inter manager Antonio Conte likes both players and if forced to choose between them he would opt to go for Alonso.

As things stand, Chelsea have said they will not accept loan with option to buy offers for either Alonso or Emerson.

The Nerazzurri club are however convinced that Chelsea will offload one of the two players by the end of the transfer window given the €55 million signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Inter must also thin out their squad at wing-back by letting players go namely Dalbert and Kwadwo Asamoah.

Dalbert has a value of €12 million against Inter’s books whilst it cannot be excluded that Inter could simply terminate Asamoah’s contract with the club.

The report concludes that Inter are also set to add Parma’s versatile defender Matteo Darmian to their ranks.
