Achraf Hakimi is waiting for the number two jersey to be freed up and he will select it according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter yesterday jumped the gun and posted that the new recruit had chosen to wear the number 55 jersey, formerly worn by Yuto Nagatomo, but swiftly deleted the announcement which was posted across their social media channels.
Diego Godin is reportedly set to leave Inter for Cagliari in the coming days and upon doing so the number two jersey will be free for Hakimi, who wears this jersey number when representing the Moroccan national team, to select it.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Hakimi would ultimately like the number five shirt due to the number five being his favourite number but the number is already taken by Inter central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.
