Diego Godin is closing in on a move to Cagliari and once his move is complete, Inter will finalise a deal to bring Arturo Vidal to the club, according to a report from Italian brodcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

As per Di Marzio, Cagliari have taken a few small steps toward signing Uruguayan national team defender Godin today and tomorrow will be an important day for negotiations.

Vidal’s arrival is absolutely not in doubt and he will become an Inter player but the squad is currently very large and  Inter’s owners Suning have asked for the squad to be thinned out.

Di Marzio goes on to explain that Cagliari are refusing to give up hope of signing Radja Nainggolan from Inter even though Inter have refused to negotiate a new loan deal for the former Belgian national team player who spent last term on loan at the Rossoblu side.
