Inter have tested the ground with Napoli to understand the feasibility of a deal for Fernando Llorente according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Mattino.

Inter have identifed the veteran Spaniard as a player who could fulfil the role of back-up to Romelu Lukaku and Inter made contact with the former Tottenham Hotspur yesterday to gauge his interest about a move.

The report goes on to explain that Inter could pay Napoli a small sum for the 35-year-old but Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli will not deal with any such negotiations until dealing with the respective futures of both Arkadiusz Milik and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Llorente joined Napoli ahead of last season on a free transfer and in what could prove to be his only season at the Stadio San Paolo, he made a total of 24 appearances across all competitions. He scored four goals and tallied a single assist.
