Joao Mario’s time with Inter is over according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Portuguese national team player will not play again for the club nor will he train with the club again either after being given an exemption from pre-season training.

Joao Mario spent last season out on loan at Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow and the Russian capital city club passed up on the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis.

Since returning to Inter at the beginning of this month the former Sporting CP player, who joined Inter in a circa €40 million deal back in the Summer of 2016, has drawn links to a number of clubs.

Real Betis, Zenit St. Petersburg and Benfica among a number of other clubs have all been linked with moving for the 27-year-old, who has scored four goals and tallied 13 assists in 69 appearances for Inter.
