Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has revealed that he is still waiting on Inter and AC Milan to present a revised project for their new stadium project.

Inter and AC Milan have been going through the process of creating a new state of the art stadium that will replace their current San Siro stadium for some time now but have been forced to revise plans by the Milan city council.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri clubs have grand plans for the stadium and the total cost of the project is expected to exceed the €1 billion mark.

On top of building a new stadium, the clubs are looking to breathe new life into the surrounding area by building offices, restaurants, retail spaces and green areas among other things.

“The problem is that at this point we are still waiting for the revised project from AC Milan and Inter, so I wouldn’t want to talk about it again until we have the project.

“Because from the project we have understood how much there is left to go, not on our part but against our indications,” he explained to the gathered journalists on the sidelines of the naming of the gardens of Viale Giovanni da Cermenate to Paolo Scrofani.
