New AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali has revealed that his agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bozzo did negotiate with Inter but once he heard of AC Milan’s interest in him, he set his sights on moving to them.

The 20-year-old sensation appeared set for a move to Inter but the Nerazzurri club withdrew themselves from the race to sign him which allowed AC Milan to swoop in and secure a deal for Tonali, who has joined them on a two year loan with option to buy.

“I asked him [my agent] to make this effort for me and he was super about it. When I realised there was this opportunity to join Milan, I closed all the other doors. I had to go to Milan. I had to,” the highly rated Italian national team central midfielder revealed as part of his presentation press conference at the Rossoneri club.

Tonali proceeded to add: “My agent did most of the negotiating with Inter, so he quite rightly left me out of it so I wouldn’t get distracted. As soon as I heard about Milan, and he knew that I supported them, we talked and I let him get to work.”

Last season Tonali made 36 appearances across all competitions but could not prevent Brescia from being relegated back to Serie B. In his time on the park, which totalled just over 3100 minutes, he scored one goal and provided seven assists for his teammates.
