Atletico Madrid have rejected an offer from Inter for central midfielder Thomas Partey according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Inter made an offer including midfielder Marcelo Brozovic for Thomas but Atletico Madrid were quick to reject the offer and made it clear that they will only let Thomas leave the club if his release clause is met.

Thomas’ release clause in his current contract sits at €50 million and Atletico Madrid will not accept a penny less than this for the Ghanaian national team player, who is a product of their academy.

Atletico Madrid view Thomas as a cornerstone to their side and it remains to be seen whether Inter will activate his release clause before the transfer window closes.

Last season Thomas, who is contracted to Los Colchoneros until the end of the 2022/23 season, made 46 appearances across all competitions in which he scored four goals and provided a single assist for his teammates.
