Diego Godin’s transfer from Inter to Cagliari is becoming more and more complicated as time passes according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

There is still no overall agreement between the two clubs over the veteran Uruguayan national team defender, whose sale could unlock Arturo Vidal’s transfer from Barcelona to Inter.

The report explains that a transfer for Godin was never going to be easy especially given his current salary, a salary which is widely reported to be out of reach for a club like Cagliari.

Godin only joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 on a three year contract but largely struggled during his first season with the club. He initially struggled to get in the team and also had clear difficulties in adapting to the three man defensive system although things did improve for him nearer the end of the season.

All in all the 34-year-old made 36 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored two goals and provided a single assist.
