Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio recently contacted Edinson Cavani to understand his intentions with regard to his future according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter drew links with the Uruguayan national team player a few months back before seemingly dropping their interest but as per this report their interest in him has picked back up.

Ausilio contacted free agent Cavani via telephone about 10 days ago when it seemed that Barcelona and Real Madrid were set to go head to head to sign Lautaro Martinez and Ausilio wanted to take the necessary precautions and test the waters with the former Paris Saint-Germain forward.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Cavani told Ausilio that he wants a salary of €12 million a year but Inter need not worry about pursuing Cavani any further as Lautaro looks set to stay with the club.
