Lautaro Martinez continues to hope for a move to Barcelona but they have turned their attention toward Memphis Depay according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The 23-year-old Argentine national team player has long been linked with a potential transfer to the Blaugrana club and has reportedly already agreed personal terms with them.

However, since Ronald Koeman took charge at Barcelona, the Catalan side have set their sights on Koeman’s compatriot Memphis Depay.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that from October 6, the first day after the transfer market closes, talks over a contract renewal for Lautaro at Inter will take place.

Inter are prepared to offer Lautaro a new deal worth €5 million plus add-ons a year but his representatives want their client to be played in line with the top earners at the club. The parties could however meet somewhere in the middle and it also remains to be seen what will happen to the release clause that is in his current contract.
