Diego Godin is reluctant to give up a single penny of the €5.5 million a year he earns from Inter by moving to Cagliari according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report from the Rome based news outlet states that there is a need for there to be an interlocking between the salary offered to Godin by Cagliari and the incentive Inter have offered Godin to leave the club, just one year into a three year contract.

It is currently a work in progress and as a result Inter’s move for Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal is paralysed in the meantime.

Inter manager Antonio Conte is waiting for Vidal to arrive at the club following a long courtship and the deal could be finalised once Godin departs for Cagliari with Inter’s owners Suning giving a clear diktat that the deal can be made official once Godin and perhaps someone else are sold too.
