Inter owned goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has shared that he hopes to be able to return to the club one day after several loan spells elsewhere.

Di Gregorio was recently loaned to newly promoted Serie B side Monza following a fruitful season long loan spell at Pordenone in the Italian second tier last term.

“For me, Inter is like a second home. The dream is to return one day, then we’ll see how things go,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio.

“In the meantime, I certainly have to focus on Monza in the best way possible then maybe I’ll come back to the Nerazzurri, but life is too unpredictable. It is better think about today.”

In conclusion he spoke on his experiences training with the Inter first team and sang the praises of current Inter number one goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic.

“In the past few years I have spent a few weeks at Appiano Gentile. Handanovic impressed me. When you watch him up close you realise that he always gives his best, whether it’s training or a match. It is no coincidence that he has reached the levels he has.”

The 23-year-old shot-stopper, who formerly represented Italy at under 17 level, has progressed through the ranks of Inter’s academy and is still awaiting his first team debut. He has had loan spells at Renate, Avellino and Novara and last season he kept 11 clean sheets in 35 appearances for Pordenone.
