Sampdoria are now leading the race to sign Inter wing-back Antonio Candreva according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Candreva looked set to join Sampdoria’s arch rivals Genoa but Candreva, who is seeking a three year deal worth €1.5 million a year, is no longer so convinced about joining the Rossoblu due to their acquisition of Davide Zappacosta.

Sampdoria have overtaken Genoa in the race to sign the former Lazio player and Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri is understood to be a big fan of Candreva.

Di Marzio also reports that Fiorentina have an interest in adding Candreva, who has little under a year left to run on his current contract with Inter, to their ranks.

Candreva joined Inter in the Summer of 2016 and has since went on to represent Inter on 151 occasions, in which he has scored 18 goals and provided 31 assists.
