Inter could potentially make a move to sign Barcelona’s Luis Suarez according to a report from Spanish football journalist Francesc Aguilar, who works for Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

As per Aguilar, the Nerazzurri club could move for Suarez if he is successful in obtaining Italian citizenship and if he is to secure his release from Barcelona and thus be able to be signed on a free transfer.

Suarez has also been strongly linked with a potential switch to Inter’s arch rivals Juventus and Suarez obtaining Italian citizenship would help clubs to sign him as they would not need to use up a non-EU player registration slot on him.

The experienced Uruguayan national team attacker has just under a year left to run on his contract with Barcelona, who he joined back in the Summer of 2014. Since joining, the 33-year-old has scored a sensational 198 goals in 283 games across all competitions.

Aguilar took to Twitter and posted: “There is no talk of Inter, but if Luis Suárez achieves Italian citizenship, the Nerazzurri club waits crouching down to try to sign the Uruguayan if he is released from Barça.”
