Diego Godin’s transfer from Inter to Cagliari has finally unlocked and is edging closer to completion according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Godin has no intention of giving up a penny of the €5.5 million net a year he earns at Inter and following daily negotiations, the parties have gotten significantly closer.

There is no longer a difference of €1 million between what Cagliari have offered him as a salary plus the incentive Inter are giving him to leave but rather a difference of €400,000. In short, Godin accepting the transfer is very close.

The report goes on to explain that Arturo Vidal is watching developments with a keen interest with many reports stating his move to Inter will be finalised once Godin departs.

Vidal stopped training with Barcelona for a few days but is now back training with them and the report from the Milan based news outlet explains that it is very likely that Inter told him to get back to training.
