Diego Godin is set to complete a move to Cagliari according to a report from Italian journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
As per Di Marzio, Godin has reached an agreement over severance pay with Inter. The Uruguayan national team player will terminate his contract wth Inter and then sign a three year contract with the Sardinian based club.
Di Marzio goes on to add that Godin’s transfer to Cagliari will open the doors for Inter to finalise a deal to bring Arturo Vidal to the club. Further contact will be made between the parties tomorrow to get the definitive go-ahead for the Chilean national team player to arrive at Inter.
Inter have been courting Vidal for a considerable amount of time and are now on the brink of adding him to their ranks. Reports elsewhere in the media have stated that he has agreed to a two year contract with an option to a third year worth €6 million a year.
Di Marzio took to social media platform Twitter and posted: “Godin to Cagliari. There is the green light from Inter, there is an agreement over severance pay then he will sign a three year contract with the Sardinians.”
In a follow up tweet he added: “The transfer of Godin to Cagliari opens the doors (tomorrow there’ll be new contact) for the arrival of Arturo Vidal at Inter.”
