Cagliari are continuing to work on signing Inter’s Diego Godin according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer markert expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The obstacles that had presented themselves and slowed down negotiations are decreasing and the parties are now getting closer and closer, so much so that today could be the decisive day for the deal to be finalised.

Di Marzio also reports that add as a precaution, Cagliari have not stopped their pursuit of Roma defender Federico Fazio.

It now remains to be seen how long it will take for what needs to be done to be done with regard to Godin going to Cagliari.

Godin appears set to depart Inter after just a single season with the club. He arrived in the Summer of 2019 on a free transfer after the expiration of his deal with Atletico Madrid and he made 36 appearances across all competitions for Inter, in which he scored two goals and tallied one assist.
