Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal was not called up for Barcelona for their Joan Gamper Trophy friendly against Elche this evening, ahead of a move to Inter, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908 earlier today.
The report details how the 33-year-old Chilean is only a step or two away from joining the Nerazzurri, with the departure of Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin unblocking the situation and allowing the player to head to Milan.
Vidal is set to undergo his medicals with the Nerazzurri on Monday, the report continues, before officially signing for the club. He is unlikely to be ready in time for the club’s season opener against Fiorentina next weekend.
For days now the former Bayern and Juventus midfielder has been undergoing personalised training sessions, waiting for his move to Inter.
Coach Antonio Conte is a huge fan of the 33-year-old Chilean and has wanted to sign the player since his arrival in Milan over 12 months ago.
