Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli discussed the Viola’s 1-0 win over Torino in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

“I have to thank the coach for the movements we studied. After every training I stay for placements and shots. I hope this goal is the first of a long series.”

The 23-year-old Italian midfielder then touched on how he was recently given the number 10 shirt by the Florence based club.

“For me the number 10 shirt is a great honor, it has been worn by players who have made history. I think about giving my all and playing carefree.”

He also discussed the club’s goals for this season. Last season Fiorentina finished 10th on 49 points, winning only 12 games out of the 38.

“Goals? We are a strong team, but we think match to match and what will come, will come. We aim for the top.”

Finally, Castrovilli looked ahead to the Viola’s next challenge against Inter next weekend in Milan.

“Now Inter are waiting for us. In Milan we must really give everything to bring home some points.”

The 23-year-old Castrovilli, who is contracted to Fiorentina until 2024, made 35 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

He scored the only goal in their 1-0 win over Torino, gifting the side an important early three points.

Inter are in their final week of preparations, with Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal expected to arrive soon in order to finally be reunited with long time fan coach Antonio Conte, who has wanted the 33-year-old for some time now.
