Cagliari coach Eusebio Di Francesco discussed Inter’s Diego Godin and Radja Nainggolan in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier this evening.

“Let’s bring them in first and then we’ll say what they can bring to the squad. The closest at this moment is Godin, according to what the team has told me.

“Then we hope to sign Radja as well in order to make these guys grow from a personality and character point of view.”

The 34-year-old Godin signed for Inter as a free agent last summer, becoming one of the better paid players in the squad in the process.

Unfortunately for the Nerazzurri, he struggled to adapt to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system and three-man defense, even seeming shaky playing the ball out from the back.

After only one season in the Lombardy capital, it now seems that Godin will be signing for Cagliari next week on a three-year deal, allowing Inter to lower their overall wage bill before the arrival of Arturo Vidal.

Godin scored two goals, provided one assist and helped the side keep 13 clean sheets in his 36 appearances.

Nainggolan is another player not particularly wanted by Conte, and so could return to Sardinia again next season. The Nerazzurri don’t want to send him back on loan, only a definitive sale.
