Inter winger Ivan Perisic could line up as a left wing back for the Nerazzurri after being tested in the role by coach Antonio Conte in the friendly win over Pisa yesterday, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Croatian impressed last season whilst on loan with Bayern Munich, where he helped the side win the Treble.

The Bavarian club decided not to sign him permanently and due to a lack of concrete offers for him, the player may be re-integrated into Conte’s squad.

Perisic again started as a left wing back, the report continues, a move that could be repeated against Fiorentina next weekend in the season opener.

Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni also started yesterday against the Serie B side in the centre of the back three, which could also be repeated against the Viola, with Andrea Ranocchia suffering from a slight injury.
