A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera has suggested that Barcelona could look to include Uruguayan veteran Luis Suarez in a deal for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.
The report details how the former Liverpool striker’s move to Juventus collapsed after the Bianconeri switched their focus to signing Roma’s Edin Dzeko.
The idea of moving to Atletico Madrid is still alive, the report continues, and there is still the possibility that the Blaugrana will look to include Suarez in a deal for Lautaro Martinez, although a substantial sum would also need to be included.
To join Inter, Suarez would not need an Italian passport, as the Nerazzurri still have two spots free for non-EU citizens, with one set to be filled by Arturo Vidal tomorrow.
The 33-year-old Chilean will sign for Inter tomorrow after completing his medical exams, with Diego Godin’s move to Cagliari helping to unblock the deal.
