Genoa are desperately looking for a centre back but have not convinced Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia to leave Inter, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Rossoblu’s current top targets are Napoli’s Sebastiano Luperto and SPAL’s Kevin Bonifazi.

President Enrico Preziosi is a fan of the 32-year-old Ranocchia, the report continues, and the club have already offered the centre back a contract.

Inter would allow the Italian defender to leave for free, in order to offload him from the squad, but the player does not want to leave Milan with only one year remaining on his contract.

Ranocchia, who has been with the Nerazzurri since 2011, made 12 appearances across all competitions last season for the Milanese club, for a total of 887 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and helped the side keep six clean sheets.
