Former Italy, Inter and Juventus coach Marcello Lippi discussed the upcoming Serie A season, the title race between the Bianconeri and Inter and other predictions in an interview in yesterday’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m uncertain what’ll happen. I’m sure Sassuolo will still be a good team. De Zerbi’s players have established mechanisms, they have fun on the pitch and are very appreciative of the attacking plays. But Pioli’s Milan also looks good.”

Lippi then touched on how Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli could compete with Inter and Juventus in the race for the league title.

“In the immediate pursuit of Juve and Inter in the title race, I see Napoli. Because Gattuso always makes his teams play well. He knows how to involve all his men in the project. He can make them feel important.”

Antonio Conte guided Inter to second place in the league last season, finishing a bitter one point behind rivals Juventus, who won their 9th consecutive league title.

The 51-year-old Italian coach has been working with the Nerazzurri’s management to strengthen the squad as much as possible ahead of the upcoming campaign, bringing in veterans like Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal, as well as talents like Achraf Hakimi.

The Nerazzurri will be confident about their chances of winning the Scudetto this season, especially with the appointment of the unproven Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo, who has no previous coaching experience.
