Barcelona star Lionel Messi said goodbye to friend and former teammate Arturo Vidal, ahead of the Chilean midfielder’s move to Inter, in a post on his Instagram page earlier today.

The 33-year-old cost the Milanese club around €1 million in a small compensation transfer fee according to several sources in Italy and has already landed in the Lombardy capital earlier tonight, ahead of his medicals tomorrow.

After successful completion of the medicals, the player will sign a two-year contract worth around €6 million net per season plus add-ons, with an option for a third year.

Messi posted a picture of himself with Vidal alongside the caption:

“I only met you when we were facing each other as adversaries and you always seemed to me to be a phenomenon, but then I was lucky enough to meet you personally and I was even more surprised.

“Two years have passed where we shared many things, you have stood out a lot and you have given a lot to this team.

“I wish you all the best in this new adventure in your new club. Our paths will cross again, I am sure.”
