Former Empoli and Genoa coach Aurelio Andreazzoli discussed the title race between Inter and Juventus an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday.

“Winning is never easy. But Inter will have to fight on equal terms with Juve. It will also depend on what happens in the market.

“Last season ended with only a small gap between them. Antonio Conte will have the opportunity to take advantage of a year of hard work.”

The Nerazzurri have been working hard to strengthen the squad in the off-season, signing Moroccan starlet Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid, as well as focusing on coach Antonio Conte’s targets.

The 51-year-old Italian coach’s position at the club was confirmed after a meeting with the club’s executives upon the conclusion of last season, with the transfer policy shifting to experienced winners like Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal.

The Milanese club’s first game is against Fiorentina next weekend in the San Siro. The Viola are coming off a season opener win against Torino yesterday.

Inter are now working on offloading the unneeded players in the squad in order to reduce the hefty wage bill and allow space for new reinforcements, with Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin being the first to be sold to Cagliari.
