Nicolo Barella has transformed from a young player with promise into a leader at Inter in his year with the club a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport points out.

The Italian youngster joined Inter from Cagliari last Summer and has proved to be a perfect addition to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s side. Barella is not just a leader in the present but can also be a leader for the future as well.

His most recent competitive match, Italy’s UEFA Nations League win over the Netherlands, in which he scored, is proof of just how far he has come as a player.

The 23-year-old is contracted to Inter until the end of the 2023/24 season. Last season, Barella made 41 appearances across all competitions. During his time on the park, which totalled just shy of 3100 minutes, Barella scored four goals and provided a total of eight assists for his teammates.
