Torino have taken a step back in negotiations to sign Inter youngster Sebastiano Esposito on loan according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati will try to give manager Marco Giampaolo a striker but will not do so on a loan basis, the same basis that Inter want to deal Esposito in.

The Turin based club have been one of several Serie A clubs to have been linked with moving for Esposito in recent weeks with newly promoted Crotone and Spezia both having been linked. Serie B outfit SPAL have also been linked with potentially taking the highly rated teen sensation on loan.

Esposito, who is a product of Inter’s youth academy, made a mini first team breakthrough during the 2019/20 season as he made 14 appearances across all competitions. During his few hundred minutes on the field, the Italian youth national team representative scored a single goal.
