Inter winger Ivan Perisic has revealed that he is happy to be back at the club following his season long loan spell at Bayern Munich last season.

“I had an incredible year at Bayern Munich. I won three trophies with a great team, even if the start was full of difficulties,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was aired a short time ago.

“With the change of coach things went better, then in February I suffered an injury. Then, however, we won everything: it was a positive year.”

Perisic then spoke on his current contractual situation with Inter and shared his hopes: “Now I’m back and I’m happy to be back at Inter. I have a two year contract, I hope we’ll do great things together in these two seasons.”

The Croatian national team player, who was part of the Croatia side that finished as runners up in the 2018 World Cup, then spoke on Inter’s most recent friendly match, their 7-0 win over Pisa.

“It was the first time in three months that I had played 90 minutes in full. It’s not easy, it takes time to get used to it. We all know how much the coach likes to work a lot.

“We are on the right track, in the locker room I saw a great desire. Everyone is ready, there is great hunger.”

In conclusion the former Borussia Dortmund player shared his expectations for the 2020/21 season which will commence for Inter this coming weekend at home to Fiorentina.

“I expect a positive year. Last year I watched all of the Inter matches, I’ve always been the number one fan, it was too bad because they came close to winning in all competitions.”

Perisic joined Inter in the Summer of 2015 in a circa €15 million deal from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. Since joining, the 31-year-old Croatian has made 163 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park he has scored 40 goals and provided 35 asssists.
