Talks between Inter and Napoli continue over Matias Vecino whom the Partnepei want to bring in to bolster their options in the middle of the park, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Partonepei are in talks with both Inter and the player’s agent with Vecino himself has already made it known that he is open to the move, the report states.

Contacts are ongoing and Vecino could well join Napoli on a loan with option to buy basis, which Inter are asking would become an obligation to buy after a set amount of appearances.

Inter would like €18 million but Napoli would like to spend less than that, namely €12 million the report continues.

The report goes on to state that Gennaro Gattuso, who is currently sidelined by injury, views Vecino to be perfect for a two man or three man midfield as well as a trequartista.

Bringing in Vecino would be an opportunity for them to replace the departed Allan at virtually no cost and enables them to really examine the player before proceeding with a potential purchase, Di Marzio concludes.
