Former Italian international central defender Andrea Ranocchia is set to leave Inter and return to Genoa after having agreed terms with the club, local Liguria media Primocanale report.
Ranocchia left Genoa in January of 2010 for Inter for a reported fee of €6 million as well as half the ownership rights to Mattia Destro, and will now make the reverse move and return to the Grifoni, the report continues.
The report makes no mention of the formula of the deal however it has been widely reported in Italy that Ranocchia will join Genoa on a free transfer as his current deal with the Nerazzurri is set to expire at the end of June 2021.
According to Italian media outlet FcInterNews, Genoa and Ranocchia have agreed terms over a 2 year contract with an option for a third.
It remains to be seen if the former Inter captain Ranocchia will receive any severance payment from the Nerazzurri, as the report makes no mention of this.
During his 10 year stint with Inter Ranocchia featured 207 times across all competitions scoring 13 goals in the process.
