Antonio Candreva’s agent Federico Pastorello has expressed his disappointment in the way Inter went about telling his client that he would be getting moved on.

Candreva is on the brink of completing a switch to fellow Serie A club Sampdoria, who Inter have agreed a €2.5 million deal with. The player has also accepted a four year contract offer with an annual salary of €1.5 million.

“He is motivated to start this new adventure with Sampdoria. We are disappointed for the abrupt way in which Inter communicated to us that he had to leave,” Pastorello explained to Italian broadcaster Sport Italia journalist Luca Cilli after he met with Sampdoria’s management to hold talks over Candreva’s seemingly immminent transfer.

Candreva joined Inter in the Summer of 2016 from fellow Serie A side Lazio as a winger but last season he was transformed into a wing-back.

The Italian, who has just under a year left to run on his contract with Inter, has made 151 appearances across all competitions. The 33-year-old has scored 18 goals and provided 31 assists during his time on the field for Inter.
