Inter owned wing-back Valentino Lazaro has shared his belief that he is at the right place in Borussia Monchengladbach.

Lazaro joined the Bundesliga club on a season long loan a few months ago but due to an injury he sustained during pre-season, he is yet to appear for the club in competitive action.

“Gladbach is the right place for me now. I really want to play for this great club. Max Eberl had been in contact for a long time,” he explained in an interview with German newspaper Sport Bild, which appeared in today’s print edition.

Lazaro then went on ot speak about why he has an appreciation for Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose, something which dates back to their time at RB Salzburg.

“I still remember our first meeting, when Marco was still a youth coach. I really appreciate when a coach sees me not only as a player but also as a person.”

Lazaro joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin in a circa €20 million deal but struggled to cement a place for himself in Antonio Conte’s team in the first half of the season. As a result he spent the second half of last season on loan at Premier League club Newcastle United.
