Napoli are serious about signing Matias Vecino who has already enthusiastically said yes to a move to them according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Although Vecino is currently sidelined by injury and will not be able to take to the pitch for at least another month, this has not deterred Napoli from moving to sign him with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli intent on signing him to complete the midfield.
Napoli currently have five midfielders and if signed Vecino would become the sixth midfielder and would also become Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso’s favourite given his ability to cover various roles and positions.
Negotiations have already started and it now remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement over the Uruguayan national team player.
Last season Vecino, who joined Inter in 2017 from Fiorentina, made 25 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored three goals and tallied a single assist.
