Sampdoria have set their sights on signing Inter defender Kwadwo Asamoah according to a report from Ghanaian news outlet Ghanasoccernet.com.

Inter are keen to offload the 31-year-old who barely featured whatsoever last season due to a recurring knee problem and has recently been subject to enquiries from Marseille, Fenerbahce and Crotone, however his €3 million year wages are an obstacle.

The report goes on to explain that Sampdoria would like the player to free himself from his Inter contract, which has just under a year left to go on it, before they make any sort of move for him.

Asamoah joined Inter on a free transfer back in the Summer of 2018 and is now surplus to requirements at Inter.

In his three years with the club, the former Juventus player, who is also capable of playing in the midfield, has made 53 appearances across all competitions, in which he has provided three assists.
