SPAL manager Pasquale Marino has revealed that he feels new recruit Sebastiano Esposito is still a few training sessions away from properly understanding what he wants from him.
The highly rated Inter youngster has joined SPAL on a season long loan and although neither club have confirmed the deal yet, Esposito has already began training with his new teammates ahead of the 2020/21 Serie B season commencing tomorrow.
“Ranieri and Esposito only got here recently, but like the others they are doing a good job,” Marino explained to the gathered media at his press conference ahead of their match against newly promoted Monza.
“We must give them time to integrate. They are applying themselves and they are players who will certainly give us a hand. Esposito in particular needs a few more days of training to integrate himself in how I want him to move.”
Italian youth national team representative Esposito is widely expected to be a regular starter for the Ferrara based club, who were relegated from Serie A at the end of last season and will no doubt be looking to bounce right back.
The 18-year-old had a mini first team breakthrough with Inter last season as he made 14 appearances across all competitions. In his few hundred minutes on the park, he scored one goal.
