As time passes, the chances of Barcelona signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter continue to diminish according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Barcelona have courted the 23-year-old Argentine national team player for a considerable amount of time and have not given up hope on signing him and provided he does not leave before the transfer window closing, Inter will hold contract renewal talks with him after the window closes.

Lautaro currently earns €2.5 million a year at Inter and Inter will try their utmost to meet Lautaro’s demands but are unlikely to match the €10 million a year deal that Barcelona offered to him.

Inter could possibly offer Lautaro €6 million and could offer him a higher annual salary in the event that his representatives agree to remove the €111 million release clause that is present in his current contract.

Last season Lautaro scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
