Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez have been reopened according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona have been courting the highly rated 23-year-old striker for a considerable amount of time but getting a deal done for him remains very complicated and will depend on the Blaugrana club trimming down their squad and wage bill.

Barcelona are looking to build a young and balanced squad to start the Ronald Koeman era at the club successfully and they clearly want Lautaro to be part of their plans.

The Argentine national team player joined Inter back in the Summer of 2018 from Argentine powerhouses Racing Club and is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Last season Lautaro made 49 appearances across all competitions for Inter, in which he scored a career high 21 goals and also provided seven assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
