Barcelona’s chances of signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez are dead according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Marca.

Barcelona have been courting the highly rated 23-year-old Argentine national team player and had enlisted the help of football super agent Jorge Mendes to help them try and get a deal done.

However the Blaugrana club submitted an offer of just €15 million with the rest of it tied up in add-ons and performance based bonuses, an offer that Lautaro and his representatives, who will now head to Milan to hold talks with Inter over a contract renewal for their client, quite simply could not believe.

The report goes on to explain that only an unexpected turn in the road will see Barcelona’s bid to sign the former Racing Club player revived.

Lautaro joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 and is under contract with the club until the end of the 2023 season although that could soon change depending on how the contract renewal talks go.
