Cagliari coach Eusebio Di Francesco discussed Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Rai aired earlier today.

“Godin has arrived and I’m happy, then there is Radja who wants to come back and we want to take him back too. But we also evaluate other ideas.”

The 32-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, spent last season on loan with the Rossoblu, where he was both successful and important to the squad.

The former Roma midfielder was quickly given the captain’s armband and became an important leader in the dressing room.

Nainggolan made 29 appearances across all competitions last season for the Sardinian side, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists.

The player did feature for coach Antonio Conte and his Nerazzurri squad in the club’s 4-3 comeback win over Fiorentina yesterday, playing in the last 16 minutes.

He has never taken issue with the 51-year-old Italian coach and would be happy to play under him. The player could still remain in Milan for this season.
