Inter defender Milan Skriniar is Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho’s number one target to strengthen the club’s defense, with the Nerazzurri setting his value at €60 million, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how next week will be a decisive one for the 25-year-old Slovakian defender, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023.

Over the next few days Spurs are expected to respond to Inter’s valuation, with their current offer of a €40 million loan deal with a buy obligation not convincing the Milanese club.

Skriniar struggled to adapt to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system last season and seemed shaky in a three-man defense.

The club could then use the funds earnt from his sale to help sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, Conte’s top transfer target.

Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia may also be sold by the Nerazzurri next week, with his move to Genoa inching closer and closer.
