Inter and Napoli will continue talks to reach an agreement regarding the transfer of Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Naples based club want to sign the 29-year-old Uruguayan on a loan deal with a buy option attached, whilst the Nerazzurri would prefer the deal to be a loan deal with an obligation to buy linked to the number of appearances made.
The player is not involved in coach Antonio Conte’s tactical project anymore and so will be sold, with his contract set to expire in 2022.
Vecino made 25 appearances across all competitions last season for the Nerazzurri, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided one assist, but struggled to impress the 51-year-old Italian coach and did not particularly adapt to the former Chelsea boss’ tactical system.
